Gilroy police: After being asked to leave property, man fires a shot at victim’s feet GILROY – A 40-year-old man was arrested in connection with a shooting in Gilroy earlier this week, police said.The shooting was reported around 9:15 a.m. Tuesday in a field between Gilman Road and Camino Arroyo, the Gilroy Police Department said in a statement Thursday.The Gilroy man got upset when the victim asked him to leave the property, police said, adding that the suspect pulled out a gun and fired a single round that hit the ground near the victim.Police said the suspect fled into a nearby creek. Officers later found him hiding in a tent and arrested him. Two guns were also seized during the investigation, police said.No injuries were reported.The suspect was booked into Santa Clara County jail on charges related to the shooting. New FDA rules allow more gay, bisexual men to donate blood By Matthew Perrone | Associated PressWASHINGTON — Gay and bisexual men in monogamous relationships can give blood in the U.S. without abstaining from sex under updated federal health guidelines that focus on donors’ behavior, not their sexual orientation.The Food and Drug Administration guidelines finalized Thursday ease decades-old restrictions designed to protect the blood supply from HIV. The agency announced plans for the change in January and said this week the new approach can now be implemented by blood banks.The updated guidelines do away with a requirement that men who have sex with men abstain from sex for three months prior to giving blood.Instead, all potential donors — regardless of sexual orientation, sex or gender — will be screened with a new questionnaire that evaluates their individual risks for HIV based on sexual behavior, recent partners and other factors. Dublin woman, 23, charged with murdering boyfriend (KRON) -- A young East Bay woman is facing murder charges in connection to a Dublin slaying. Dublin Police Department officers found the victim inside a home on Campbell Lane on Cinco de Mayo around 9 p.m. The victim, 23-year-old Jesus Gallegos, had been stabbed, police said. Gallegos also suffered blunt-force trauma injuries.Officers detained Gallegos' girlfriend, 23-year-old Crystal Angelina Espinoza, at the crime scene. She was arrested and booked into Santa Rita Jail on charges of homicide and domestic assault. Dublin Police Captain Gurvinder Gosal said, "They were in a dating relationship. The victim stayed at the suspect’s apartment on and off."Alameda County prosecutors filed murder charges against Espinoza before she made her first court appearance Wednesday. She is scheduled to be arraigned on May 24 in the East County Hall of Justice. Inmate records show Espinoza is being held behind bars without bail.

European tour issues more fines, possible suspensions, for 26 players who competed for LIV Equipped with a favorable court ruling, the European tour has expanded its sanctions against players who competed in LIV Golf or Asian Tour events without permission over eight months.The tour already has issued fines of 100,000 pounds ($125,000) to 17 players who played in the first two LIV Golf events outside London and Portland, Oregon.Now it is going after 26 players with fines that range from 12,500 pounds to 100,000 pounds for each tournament they played without a release. The amount depends on what the tour deems caused a negative effect on the European tour.Players also could face suspensions — up to eight regular European tour events on the schedule — if they pay their fines and remain members. Any suspension would not start until the Porsche European Open in Germany on June 1-4.Sergio Garcia was the only player who did not pay the initial fine.
